Progress Monitoring and Assessments
RAVE-O offers Complete assessment system with frequent progress monitoring
We recommend using standardized tests in conjunction with the RAVE-O assessments. This can be beneficial in determining student progress and informing instruction. Whereas the RAVE-O formal assessments are intended to test for student knowledge and retrieval of concepts and skills taught within the program, standardized, norm-referenced tests can be used to measure how well students can apply what they have learned in RAVE-O to new material.
Many schools conduct standardized testing three times per year to measure student growth. It is recommended that, if a standardized test has been used to place students in RAVE-O, the same form of standardized test be given at the mid-point in the program (after Unit 8) and at the end (after Unit 16).
