RAVE-O drives gains in decoding, fluency, and comprehension through our multicomponential approach, which we call POSSUM.
RAVE-O is an evidence-based and trusted Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention solution utilized in hundreds of schools around the world. One of the first interventions rooted in the Science of Reading, RAVE-O’s efficacy is supported by over twenty years of rigorous research.
RAVE-O accelerates learning, prevents and diminishes the reading achievement gap, promotes fluency and comprehension. Very importantly, it supports learner confidence with reading through engaging strategies and activities that utilize student strengths from art and music to drama.

Materials:
The program includes materials designed to be engaging and interactive, supporting both students and teachers through comprehensive instructional guides and resources.
Teachers have a variety of high- quality materials including both printed and digital materials. These include clear Teacher Guides, daily lesson plans, objectives, scripted instruction, and important “tips” that aid memory and engagement. “Minute Stories” accompany lessons that increase not only decoding and comprehension, but also a comfort with reading for the struggling reader. In addition, various stories emphasize each of the deep reading processes from background knowledge (non-fiction) to empathy and critical thinking.
Each lesson is structured with student objectives, steps, and timing recommendations. There are also posters, card sets, and other classroom materials that support instruction.
