We have partnered with Crafting Minds to create a training that teaches you not only how to teach reading to the many different types of struggling readers, but why each element of the program is emphasized and connected to each other to simulate the reading brain. .
Learn from the collective research and work of Dr. Maryanne Wolf and her colleagues on the importance of each component of the POSSUM approach; how it connects Science to Story; and how it reflects the latest research on both the heterogeneity of dyslexia and the processes that contribute to deep reading comprehension, including background knowledge, empathy, and critical analysis.
Training includes 10 hours of total instruction with broader opportunities for coaching and implementation support. Live and virtual opportunities exist.

TRAINING for MODULES 1 & 2
This 10-hour (PDP) training combines 5 hours of self-guided coursework and live, virtual instruction (unless otherwise noted). The cost is $415 and includes a training manual as well as a copy of Crafting Minds new book, The Structured Literacy Playbook: Pre-planned Lessons to Build Phonics and Fluency. By the completion of the course, participants will be certified to implement the RAVE-O curriculum — Modules 1 & 2.
TRAINING for MODULE 3
This 6-hour (PDP) workshop is designed for educators who have completed the Module 1 & 2 training and taught the RAVE-O curriculum for at least 20 hours. The workshop combines 5 hours of live instruction and 1 hour of self-guided coursework. The cost is $275. By the completion of the course, participants will be certified to implement the RAVE-O curriculum — Module 3.
